Verwood’s knit-and-crochet-along-a-thon

Description of the KIP:

We are going to attempt to knit and crochet 48 six inch squares for a blanket in a 12 hour session and raffle it off. Tickets are £2 on the day. The theme is bobbles and hearts. Patterns for a range of abilities from a simple knitted square edged in garter stitch, a half treble crochet square with a heart motif or a complicated cabled square. A simple square will take about 1 and a half hours. Yarn supplied – Stylecraft Special DK in duck egg blue, pale rose and mushroom.

What to bring:
Bring 4mm knitting needles or a 3.5mm crochet hook. A bottle of water and lunch if you plan to stay. There is a Tesco express nearby. We will also be collecting essential new, unopened toiletries for ladies at the refuge. New bars of soap, Sanitary items, new toothbrushes, toothpaste etc.

Backup plan:
The Heritage Centre will be open only to knitters from 9am and the general public from 9:30 . The Centre serves tea and coffee, cakes and pastries from 9:30 until 12 and weather permitting we will utilise the outside space.
