This site’s main purpose is to help organize local wwkip day events around the world. That being said, it’s actually designed for year round use; so that local groups can let people know about meet ups happening at any time. Why? So that knitters visiting the area will know where they can meet up with other knitters for some quality ‘no kids, no significant other’ knitting time. Local meet ups are indulgent little ‘knitting fixes’; if you will.
This site is easier to use than ever before. Getting signed up is just a matter of filling out a form and submitting it. Once you've submitted your kips plans, I (being Danielle Landes) will review them, and approve them, usually within a few days or hours.
In the 'host a kip' section, you'll first be asked your country, then if applicable, you're state. From there you'll be sent to the 'host a kip' form. You will be asked to fill out various information, including your email address though it will not be shown on the kip page, it's just for our contact purposes. Beside and inside each of the information fields you'll find helpful ideas and suggestions for what to enter into each field. Over the years we've compiled a list of things that people want to know about each specific events and we've noted the most popular event ideas to help you put things together. If you need any further ideas, send us an email at hosting(at)wwkipday(dot)com.
To find a kip, you'll be asked to select your chosen country from the drop down menu. If there's already a kip planned in that country you'll either be asked to select the state or the city. From there, you'll be able to see all of the kips, their host(s) and the date of the event. You can then choose to open the page in a new window, or open it up in the current page.
We've tried to make this site as user friendly as we can, if there's anything that has you scratching your head please use the contact page and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
