Description of the KIP

Join Local Cloth on the sidewalks in and around Asheville’s River Arts District to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public (WWKIP) Day on June 8 from 10am to 4pm. Festivities include sitting knitters throughout the River Arts District, an opportunity for yarn bombing, and a make-and-take drop-in to learn how to make knitted cotton washcloths. No knitting experience is needed to participate in WWKIP Day. Admission to the event is free, just pay for the materials you use. Crocheters are welcome!

What to bring
For new knitters, we will have yarn and needles and teachers. For others, bring something you are working on. If sunny, sunscreen, water, and a chair if you want to be adventurous.

Backup plan:
If it’s raining, we’ll be inside.

Is this KIP going to be exclusive to knitting?
Are there any bathrooms nearby?
