Knitters are welcome to gather throughout the historic village of the site. Lincoln’s New Salem SHS is 20 miles northwest of Springfield, IL on SR 97 and 2 miles south of Petersburg , IL.

Description of the KIP:

Knitters of all ages and experience are welcome to gather in the historic village of site to knit alongside our historic interpreters. The event is in conjunction with the site’s Summer Frolic, which will consist of various period demonstrations and activities.

What to bring:
Knitters will be responsible for their own seating. There will be several shady spots to gather. Knitters are able to bring water but no food is allowed in the historic village.

Backup plan:
There is limited covered space in the case of rain. The event will be held rain or shine.
