Description of the KIP

Green Mountain Knitting Guild cordially invites you to join us in knitting and socializing on the State House Lawn. We will sit on blankets and lawn chairs. Bring whichever makes you more comfortable. We had about 30-35 knitters join us last year. Bring your fiber enthusiast posse, and let’s top that number! There will be a sign-in sheet, so we can keep track. No fee and no limits on what fiber activity you enjoy! Just fun in the sun with fiber! If you’ve never knit, and you’d like to learn, don’t be shy. There’s usually someone around who’s willing to share our passion!

What to bring
There are restaurants, coffee shops, and public restrooms a few minutes away by foot. Bring whatever you need to be comfortable (e.g., food, water, lawn chair, sun hat, sunscreen, canopy, knitting).

Backup plan:
In case of rain, there is no backup plan at this time.

Is this KIP going to be exclusive to knitting?
Are there any bathrooms nearby?
Yes, Free

Why? Are crocheters welcome? I work on cotton thread projects during the summer. Suggest you solicit as many pop-up shelters (like used at farmers’ markets) for both sun and rain as you can. They are everywhere.

I’ll be working at the farmer’s market (and knitting as I do!) until 1:00, but I plan to come join after I pack up my tent.

I’m hoping there will be an extra chair or two. I can only walk with supports. I can carry my knitting and my water bottle, but I don’t think I can manage a chair.

Teegan, great to have you when you can make it! Deborah, I’m bringing an extra chair, hopefully others will, too!

Deborah, I can bring a chair for you. I have folding fabric camping chairs and also some of those plastic Adirondack chairs. I don’t find either of them all that easy to get up out of—would one of those types work better for you? You can pm me at greenmtngirl at gmail to let me know or talk about alternatives.

Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow! The actual RSVP is on the right side of this page, just under the mountain logo.
